Hello! I'm back in the driving seat and getting ready for the journey of reporting issues in my village again!
It has been a very long time since my last input and there are so many important issues to cover however, I need my community to stand together and support each other! There can be no sitting on the fence anymore, that is how you get hoodwinked and the Government and Local Council's get what they want and not what you want!
So here we go with a list of Issues to start!
HGV's through my Village!
HGV Restriction in Tamarisk Road ( Sign to be put back )!
Parking Restrictions on The Flowers Estate!
NHS Thurrock PCT's Cuts to our Vulnerable (People who are not curable) See Thurrock Gazette 26th March 2010!
The Stones Throw Site: 4th application refused now going to appeal!!! Watch this space!

The half of the estate near the rail station want the restrictions to stop all the commuters clogging up the estate and would welcome residents only parking yet our voices are drowned out by the vociferous other half of the estate who don't have any commuter parking problems so everything stalls and nothing gets done.
If we get residents only parking on half the estate the commuters will just move to the half of the estate with no restrictions. Yet again we have another consultation.
The council should have a six month free residents parking permit trial with commuters being directed to the car park at Canterbury Parade and fined if they still park on the estate.
The all residents will see if we really need a residents permit scheme on the estate or not.
Dear Anoymous
IT HAS BEEN PROVEN THAT IT IS NOT ALL YOUR HALF THAT WANTS THE RESTRICTIONS, DOMCRATIC VOTES HAVE PROVED THAT!
Members of SORA had been out and about on survey walks and found that most of your half did not want to pay for permits as well as this half of the estate!
The restrictions were found not to be fair on Vulnerable people, night workers, out of hours workers!Parents of sick children and disabled people etc.
As far as the second proposal goes of yellow lines on kerbside, this is not fair also, because some people arrive home off lates or nights have no choice because of the amount of vehicles and commercial vehicles taking up parking bays, therefore it is not fair to ask them to get up and move their vehicles!
Did you attend the special meeting last Thursday? This was very important because all those who did attend raised their hands to reject the last proposal!
Chris Savill from SORA and the Flowers Estate Community addressed the meeting and Proposed that: "Thurrock Council utilise the revenue from the Parking ticket machines that will be installed in Tamarisk Road, to pay for the Parking Permits for the residents of the Flower's Estates named roads and closes!" The Highways Officer rejected this without guilt and said " It cannot be done, they pay £25:00 in Basildon and in Grays, the Legalities of it would not work! The Village would be happy for it's Residence of Flower's Estate to have PARKING PERMITS BUT NOT AT THEIR COST!!!! LET THE GREEDY SELFISH COMMUTER'S PAY FOR THEM! It's them who caused this problem not the Residents!!!!!!!!!
